Historic rockhounding area in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle. Site of one of the first gem mining operations in North America where gem-grade tourmaline was discovered in 1868. Area quarries produce calcite, jasper, pyrite cubes, quartz crystals, selenite, and tourmaline.
