A popular gem mining destination in the Cascade Mountains of western Oregon. Quartzville Creek is a BLM Wild and Scenic River known for abundant deposits of quartz crystals, agate, jasper, and pyrite. Originally discovered by prospectors during the mid-1800s. Popular for recreational gold panning and gemstone hunting. Best visited during spring and summer when water levels are lowest.
