Alva Agate Beds

All area washes, gravels, and surfaces around Alva in northwestern Oklahoma. Known especially for banded and mossy agates, along with chalcedony, chert, and jasper. Particularly productive in areas south of Alva. One of the best agate collecting areas in the state.

Agates
Banded chalcedony prized for their colors and patterns. Lake Superior agates, Fairburn agates, and Montana moss agates are especially famous.
