Guided turquoise mining tours at the historic Royston Turquoise Mine, 26 miles outside Tonopah. Three generations of the Otteson family have operated this mine since the 1940s. Royston turquoise is world-renowned โ its blue hue is said to have inspired Tiffany & Co.'s signature color. Half-day and full-day tours available. AWD/4WD or high-clearance vehicle recommended for the 5-mile dirt road. Year-round tours Monday-Saturday (weather permitting, excluding holidays). Meet at Giggle Springs Gas Station in Tonopah and caravan to the mine.
