McLain State Park

Lake Superior beach within McLain State Park on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Known for Keweenaw agates, Yooperlites, rhyolite, prehnite, and occasional copper specimens. Beach gravels produce excellent Lake Superior agates in a beautiful park setting with camping. DNR explicitly lists rock hounding as an activity.
