Crystal Lake Cave - Gem Mining

Crystal Lake Cave offers guided cave tours through limestone passages plus a gem mining activity where kids pan and sift for multi-colored gems, rocks, minerals, and fossils. The gift shop also sells gemstones and souvenirs. Located in Dubuque County, it is described as one of the deepest caves in Iowa and the only place for fee-dig gem mining in the state.
