BLM collecting site near Lavic Siding off I-40. Multi-colored jasper (red, yellow, brown, green) formed in Tertiary-Quaternary basalt flows. Pieces lie on the desert surface — best material is often partially buried. Takes strong polish, popular with lapidary hobbyists. Accessible via dirt road passable in 2WD when dry. 25-lb daily limit.
