Historic fee-dig fire agate mine in operation since the early 1900s, about 4 miles north of Oatman on Route 66. Run by Don Nelson since the 1970s. Open 12 months a year, call ahead to confirm. Cash only, no ATM. Bring your own tools or rent. Claims are a desert dig on 4 side-by-side 20-acre claims with Old Route 66 passing through the center. Group discounts for 10+ people.
